I bought a socket from a guy in England who makes them to use on my stock center nuts. It fits my right side nut perfectly but not the left one. It barely fits and if I get it on at all it’s almost impossible to remove. Are the castings that dissimilar?

WOW, I would have never guessed they would not be the exact same size.

I have one of those sockets and I've never tried it, I guess that will be another one of the things I do when I pull the car out of storage

Hi Everyone,
I have one of those sockets.
Fits three perfectly but rear near side is as tight as a *#*#*#*# .
Needs persuasion to get it on and even more to get it off
Regards
Geof

These have every appearance of sand castings which would be enough to cause minor discrepancies. Smoothed, buffed, machined and threaded then plated.

Seems Lionel suspects either tooling wear or use of some imperial measurement on his end and is cutting me a new socket. We’ll see. Might have one available for free soon... might fit both of yours!😂 Or if you have the ability to enlarge it a mil or two...

The stock wheel nuts became such a problem for me that I opted for the two lobed spinoffs. The wrench fit fine but the handle is way too short to adequately remove the nut and not mar the finish as the supplied wrench is steel. Now I just use the wooden two lobed plate and a big rubber hammer without a problem. It comes off relatively easy and, more importantly, does not harm the spinoffs!

ok, I may be the victim of my dealerships overtightening, but how do you get the damn nut off? I have a fancy socket, on a 2 foot breaker bar, blocked the rear wheel. checked the rotation arrow on the nut, WONT BUDGE. Added another 3 feet of pipe, WONT BUDGE! I was putting so much force to it that the wheel and tire were rotating against the ground! Ok, got out my air powered impact driver, WONT BUDGE. The only thing I can think of is either the dealership or the factory either overtightened them or worse cross threaded them? Any ideas?
