Has anyone got the opportunity to either validate or disprove the following?

“We have been testing CGON’s ezero1 product over the recent months and have found a significant difference in both emission levels and MPG; we are pleased to be working with CGON who will help to provide a greener and leaner solution to our vehicle in conjunction with other activities. We are hopeful that the product will become part of our products in the near future leading to saving in CO2 and fuel consumption for our customers.”

Hi Bob the Train,
I have come across this once whilst trying to find a way to add some horses to my 4/4 1800 4 seater of 1999 vintage. I have tried many things to make the car a little bit more responsive and am at the point of fitting a 2 litre motor which would add 20bhp to the modest 115 it is said to produce. This car is a 4 seater, my family barely fit into it and the luggage the wife takes needs a motorhome I can tell you this is the most loaded Mog you'll ever see.

Looking at the cgon website all the testimonials seem to be from diesel users so it will be good on the family motor but how about my 4/4/4, do you have any comments on this.

If I did 5,000 miles this year I might use about 160 gallons and at a price of currently £1.20 per litre this amounts to 726 litres, so if I could save 20% of this it amounts to £174.00 and thus it is a 3 year payback (nearly)

OK so can I add additional driveability to the equation.

Regards
Chris

In my opinion there is very little difference between a lightly tuned 1.8 and a 2.0. To cart a heavy load you need torque at the normal rev range. If you are going to change motors put a 2.5 Duratec in. The cost will be only be a fraction more and you will get the mid range torque you are looking for.

Bob,
I was contemplating having one fitted to the 90 - however any such change will have to wait until regular earnings hit the bank account again.
I have spoken to someone at CGON and all appears genuine. The only issue for me is lifespan of the device. If it gained approval to the extent of reducing vehicle tax that would be a big plus point. However, it would need to be greater than that applied to LPG/CNG conversions.

Thanks for the reply, Graham. I have sent MMC an email FAO Mr. Chapman, so I will see if I get a reply.

Mentioned in another thread on here last year somewhere, which is why I took a look at the CGON web site.

Someone at work did. He was mightily impressed with the sh*t from the exhaust while it was being done. I remember creating similar clouds when dribbling Redex into the carb on my first Land Rover.
Chap at work ended up trading the Jab X-type soon afterwards as the high pressure fuel pump (diesel) needed rebuild as it leaked fuel into the sump. frown
