June and Nikita are going out so it looks like a curry a bottle of beer and watch the crumpet . Richard I need a very large beer. I insured the mog y/day and without asking the chap said " I have put your daughter down to drive it on her own ". GULP I told her today on the phone . Anyone know an excuse round this. As part of a testicular cancer awareness promotion, one of our local motor factors had toolbox stickers printed up with the legend 'Don't be a spanner, check your nuts'
Simple, but effective.....

A dear friend of mine, (who originated from County Wexford) suffered testicular cancer. As a result, he required surgery, which required removal of one testicle. After a period of recovery he was recalled to the hospital for an appointment with a plastic/ reconstructive surgeon. The surgeon turned out to be a rather attractive lady. She asked him if he wanted to be “evened up” by means of a prosthetic. His reply (and imagine a soft Irish accent) “I don’t know what sort of men you go out with. But I don’t flop my tackle out when chatting to a lady”  On a serious note and for another form of cancer - if you start to suffer from unexplained bruising, excessive tiredness, giddiness and possibly night sweats; please get it checked out. It could just be early signs of one of the many variants of leukaemia.

Didn’t see any of the programmes but listened to an interview with one of the producers on the radio explaining the concept
If it brings awareness and helps saves lives as well as helping those going through treatment, it’s a great idea
Just as a side, I knew well and went to school with Simon Beufoy who wrote The film the Full Monty and son and won an oscar for the screen play for Slum Dog
We had a couple of talented authors at School - Blake Morrison being another one and I put it down to our English teacher Gordon Thomas who was the most inspirational teacher I could ever imagine
When I meet up with old boy pals we still reminisce about Gordon’s lessons
