If you can get beyond the "It's a replica" tag then as a previous owner, I would go for the SS100.
It will have all brand new or re built to new parts, the chassis is brand new, the body is rust proof GRP and aluminium.
You can, and indeed must, tinker to your hearts desire. They look great, are brilliant to drive, fast, reliable and have a good hood.
Depreciation is minimal or non existant like a Morgan and at the end of the day, when all the bull is forgotten, don't we all buy cars that resonate with our heart and soul rather than the head ??
Sorry if this sounds like a sales pitch, it's just that Suffolks are so good that's why I now have a "C" Type from them.
As others have said Howard, I think you are searching in vain, hell I even didn't like my "E" Type so there's no hope for you. oldgit

An SS100 would be wonderful. I am also thinking about building a Caterham when I retire

First we need to get the junk AKA valuable stuff that was in the loft & shed out of the garage to find space.
The house is 1 year old there is no shed or boarded loft.

Right now it is just a dream.

I've lost track a bit - I guess from another post you may have found a new house and possibly sold the old one?

It must be great to be in such a position to be able to swap and change but I do feel sorry for your missus.

Mrs H "what would you like for dinner darling?"
H "let me have a think about that!"

Why not play safe get a Porker. To low?

How about a Mustang GT?

Or for a bit of cheap(ish) accessible opentop fun you will be able to get in and out of with ease just buy an electric smart fortwo cabrio.

Correct Graham. Hopefully we will move to a house near Felixstowe.
We are downsizing. So one extra bedroom, giving 5 in total.
