I did a couple of modelling sessions in my time as school governor.

It was good fun.

A couple in the paper this week make money as registered film extras............

I really do have plenty to do, but you know what?

I could use a bigger garage.

You can never have enough garage space , especially if you have toys that need some cover , go for it !

I'll post more details of our route nearer the time, but we are going roughly the same time. Watch out for a yellow Morgan!

There must be something wrong with me, my contract work has dried up due to the decline of the oil industry and I hate it! I am envious of all you guys who reckon you don't know how you found time to work. I sit at home bored to tears.

CJB, sorry to hear that. I never thought that I would want to retire. I knew when the time was right, but had to wait 3 years before 'they' let be go.
I hope the next contract comes soon for you.

Congratulations Dave. Hats off to you for a long career and such a positive mind on the future.

I semi-retired at 48 three years ago(not through ill health mind). A little like CJB, bored to tears. So found a hobby, and also doing voluntary work and a little consultancy when asked. It's getting the balance right I guess between having enough free time (good = more than when working full time) and not too much free time that your mind finds things to worry about!!

Enjoy yourself Dave...you sound as though you already have it all planned which in my view, was the right thing to do. Good on you.

Hmmm...you haven’t exactly retired though have you Ian? 😉🤓

Dave....congratulations. If you are ever over this side of the country do feel free to pop in or stay.....I know it’s the wrong side of the Penines but it is quite nice!

I retired way back at the age of 46 😳 really out of choice in the days of good packages, to be with my wife who had been diagnosed with cancer. She gave up a successful career in TV and between demo and surgery and many hospital stays she dedicated her life to raising funds for charity. It gave me the chance to do many things part time that I’d always wanted to do...from assisting a friend in industrial design, helping him restore classic race cars, restore motorbikes and take my art work to a more professional level. That kept me going with never a thought of how I’d fill my day. After she died I continued the restoration work, discovered Morgan and then got sucked in to working at the factory as a tour guide....that almost became a full time job for a lot of the year! Now I have a new life up in Cumbria with new things to do. Several grandchildren not to mention “children” which I’ve never had before....sucking me into a sailing club I left back in 1970 where I am to train for the safety boat never mind getting involved in preparing a 106 year old sailing boat for launch in a months time for the village. And then there’s the Archive group want my assistance and the charity that runs the woods my back garden accesses want me too.......I don’t think I’m going to get bored!
