We are going to Newquay in the summer.

As we should have moved by then to Suffolk I want to break the drive once we hit the A303 after the M3. Otherwise it is 360 miles in one go.

Anyone got any recommendations say after Andover & before Exeter?

John. Have a look at
www.lambhindon.co.uk
Glorious little inn just south of the 303 to the west of Salisbury.

Thanks Bud. That looks good but they are booked on one of the days so will need somewhere for the return.
I can't book just yet as we haven't exchanged contracts yet.

Whats in/out in the selection criteria ?

Upmarket put with lodging ?

I would prefer a nice small pub / hotel rather than go the premier inn route.

Must have safe off road parking of course but not necessarily covered.

10 rooms.
Just off the A303 around Ringwood area.
Great sunday food when we stayed there.
Reasonable car park (not covered)
Lovely little village.

Any good ?

There's only one place to stay in that area..........

Our regular haunt for over 30 years.

Here's another one: https://www.beckfordarms.com Just off the A303 after Stonehenge going west, lovely part of the world, good walks round about, excellent food and service, good beer, very nice rooms indeed. One of the rooms is dog friendly, not that that would appeal to many TMers travelling in their Morgans. If you're eating, we've found it's best to ask for a table in the lounge, nice and bright and a roaring log fire in winter.

The Red Lion at East Chisenbury is truly wonderful.

A few miles north of the A303 (Come off at the Amesbury/ Solstice Park Bulford/junction)

Michelin star. Fabulous food and stunning accommodation.

PS: Avoid the 303 Stonehenge bottle neck by using the Larkhill rat run.
