I'm sitting here reading all this great stuff about how rewarding it is to be Morgan owner. Never having owned one, my life is apparently going to change in 1 month when my Roadster V6 leaves Pickersleigh Road and heads to Rutland and my care. Chose a light metallic blue; slightly frightening, as I've never seen one in that colour! I've never looked forward to a car as much in my (quite long) life. Roll on October! Great forum, by the way - obviously full of enthusiasm and joy.

Allan,

Welcome to the site, and I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun when you car arrives, mine managed to knock up 2000 miles over last winter.

Now I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but if you've been lurking on the forum for any time you may have discovered the Morgan delivery dates are flexible. Mine was due October but arrived in November just added to the anticipation. laugh2

Regarding your colour choice, it'll be find and sounds go as long as you haven't matched it a pink interior. Anyhow it couldn't have been more frightening than mine.

Allan, not long now! wine

Do you know what light blue it is?

My first Morgan was Bentley Silverlake Blue - which caused a chain reaction of about 10-Silverlake Aero 8s to me made.

There is also a nice light metallic blue Plus 8 for sale - photos can be found here .

I hope those help.

Thanks for the encouragement, gentlemen. The Plus 8 colour is close to what I hope it will be (!). My colour is called Beryll "green", a 90's Merc colour, but is decidely light blue...maybe with a "hint" of green, as Dulux would say. Interior is dark blue leather, hood same colour. The build started this week, I'm assured (by having a chassis number mentioned on the invoice!), so it's tantalisingly close to reality.
One more observation. Half the world (obviously not Morganistas) say the ride is terrible. The other half don't mention that characteristic...

Why do we take delivery of our new cars in October having missed the best of the Summer Sun?
You will need to get some quick miles in Allan. drive
Looking forward to some early pics.

Thank you Frank,
The sudden urge to order a Mog "after the event" is unexplainable. In mitigation, I nearly bought it just before I repatriated with my wife last July from Switzerland, but had my arm twisted to buy something sensible for our installation in the UK. The pressure has since eased...
Now, having been all over the Alpine passes on my motorbike, I look forward to doing the same in my roadster next year. There's nothing like it!

The ride is not terrible Allan, but is made better with AVO dampers. If MrsW wants to tour Scotland in my Roadster after a week in Devon, I suggest that this says it all. grin2

Thanks to all those who take the trouble to welcome new people to the fold. It's very heartening.
On the suspension issue, what is it about AVO's that make them work better than the originals?
Also, anyone got any feedback on the straight-through silencers? Too much noise for high speed cruising?
Any other tweek I can do at the PDI stage?
Allan

Allan,
I had a Librands sports exhaust fitted to my 06 Roadster and it is a good improvement on the sound. I am told by Park Morgan in Germany that number of their customers have gone for the RPI engineering sports cat to go with it. This steps up the sound significantly, plus power, although at a price.
