Yep. At Mauds for a last Pooh Bear before the weather broke!

Took my Daughter out for lunch, parked in the carpark and came out to find this piece of automotive art beside it.



The owner drove off, making a wonderful noise. It is the first 720s I've seen close up and I have to say whilst past McLaren models haven't really made me take up and notice, this new model does. It has a degree of lithe beauty and smoothness of form that is just outstanding.

From the road tests it is a bit quick, too...., no real surprise as it has 2 X the bhp of Tarka and weighs just about 70kg more....

We had a good lunch, the car was the icing on the cake, as it were!

Nice to see you both Peter, I agree that the 720S is a huge step forward on the 650S that I had previously. The fit and finish is pretty perfect and the performance is just amazing - there’s not many cars that make the Plus 8’s performance seem somewhat mundane, but this Mclaren manages it.

I think the Woodspeen (http://www.thewoodspeen.com/restaurant/) lunch was even better than the last time we were there and it was a really nice drive there and back, though I did envy you your hood-down motoring....

A run out in the S5 to just past Shrewsbury and back in the sunshine today. The new handling pack works brilliantly and aids the heavy right foot!

then Williams to Brighton (not the smartest piece of timing at the end of the easter holiday week, but there are some fabulous off-motorway roads in Wilts/Hants/Surrey/Sussex.
I saw one jam on the M4 westbound: 3 or 4 cars had gently collided: no major damage, all on the hard shoulder. Police in attendance. And a 5 mile tailback!.
Which is why I tried my damndest to keep off the motorways.

And today, a blast back from Hove to Salisbury, taking the mileage over 6,100 in 53 weeks.

It’s a good point that I’ve not really thought about but apart from Mog meets or events, cant recall ever seeing another Aero on the road.

Me too, only ever seen 1 other not in captivity.....
