I've just had a call from a friend who's M3W had 'just stopped' while driving along normally. He had been stranded on the side of the road for 1.5 hours and had called an AA recovery vehicle. They in turn had advised that it might be 5 or 6 hours until they reached him! My mind drifted back a week to Curborough where Warbird's car had cut out in a similar fashion while being driven gently around the track.  On that occasion it didn't take long for a swarm of 3 Wheeler experts to gather round and determine that the fuel cut-off switch had tripped. Therefore, I directed my stranded friend to press the 'switch' down behind the oil tank and hey presto his engine started first time. Of course he now thinks I'm a genius!

Of course he now thinks I'm a genius! Given that a genius is someone who just knows what to do in a situation, in this context you are. Wait until your friend calls you with a really tricky problem and then we will all find out if the label is justified.

Mine used to trip randomly anywhere between a couple of miles or a couple of hundred
Tried replacing it but still the same so it’s now cable tied shut
If it does trip it only kills the fuel pump feed so once you’ve coasted to a halt all the lights, gauges and starter still work so it can be a bit confusing.
