I grounded my 2010 4/4 sport on an unmade road today. No damage I can see but the accelerator didn’t work. Being an IT type I turned it off and on again and all was well. Any ideas what caused that?

David, Good to hear that all seems Ok.

When you say reboot, did you just restart the car via the ignition as normal or press the re-set button on the fire wall?

On my 2012 I had a similar grounding and then completely dead car. Noting on ignition nor rolling on a hill 'bounce start'. Used the re-set bulk-head button and all things normal returned. Maybe just the 2010 is a different set-up. I'm sure the boffins here will know.

I think it may be that it stalled but the rev counter carried on reading. Six hours driving and tinnitus may have prevented me from noticing that the engine wasn't making any noise.
