I had mine up on blocks last week with all the wheels off for a poke around looking for things to fix. I’ve done near 7k miles in a year and a half of all weather, (but mostly dry), driving. There are no signs whatsoever of any chassis corrosion, the under seal is very thorough. I have a tin of black waxoyl for brush touch up, the cross rail under the gear box has been scraped a few times and an aerosol of clear wax for bits I don’t want covered up. I actually took some of the black off my shocks and springs and sprayed them with clear, I like to see the colours The ARP4 with the red chassis would be my next on the list, it would be a cleaning fiends dream! The only rusty bits were the unpainted parts of the front hubs, not any more though. I really wouldn’t worry, get it ordered and find some roads where nobody goes.

Great stuff. Those brass wheel nuts are lovely, aren't they?

The brass nuts are beautiful, they take a bit looking after, but that’s part of the fun. Kennyh has a set on the for sale pages here, they’re a lot of money......but the rest of the car is included too

Modern cars don't fall apart so to speak as on the whole they are clothed in plastic protective panelling, stones bounce off the panels not the painted under bodywork, where they are exposed most do corrode pretty quick in some instances. unless OCD owner continually maintains those areas.
Given the nuts and bolts methods on the Morgan trads it wouldn't be difficult to come up with some panelling.

Thinking of ordering new trad but notice chassis are no longer galvanized, does any one have experience of new coating? Very concerned it will start peeling after a few years similar to old TVR chassis.
I have the coated chassis, it will be 2 years old next month and it still looks like new 😃
