Dear All, I thought it easier to start a new thread on this enduring topic! To cut an extremely long story a bit shorter I will go through as quick as possible. Trouble started a few months ago when power steering fluid started dribbling onto the garage floor. The car is regularly looked after by Alan Claridge at ACE (Witney).(As most know the original seal has gone out of production and no stock left). He tried some special gunk in the oil but still no joy but Simon (SiFab) had a spare pump and between the two of them came up with a design where the pump was machined out and a seal which is quite "common" was fitted. The good news is that it works a treat and no leaks!!! So, Alan currently has my old pump but I am sure this fix will be gladly taken up by people currently accepting a damp patch on their garage floors!!!! T

- excellent news taffy; thanks for the update It's always a relief to here when a work-round to some of the more serious, potential Aero problems/lack of parts has been developed. I'm sure Alan and Simon will be able to update us on what is now available.... James

Taffy, although I don't have an Aero at the moment I am still very interested in the vehicles. Are you talking about the seal where the steering column goes into the rack?
This leaked intermittently on my S1 though I understand new owner has since found a way of replacing it.
Cheers

Hello guys. Came across this after my S1 started dropping power steering fluid on my garage floor as well. Thought I might have to go down the upgrade route but my local dealer Revolutions in Perth found the original distributors for the S1 pumps who said they could refurbish it no problems. Was only away a few days and back to them looking like new with no leaks.
No idea of cost etc as mine was done for free as only recently purchased but might be worth trying to contact Russell, Elliot or Angus who I dealt with at Revolutions if all else fails.
