There is some play in the back of my reclining seat. Only an inch or so movement but its starting to annoy me. Just looked at it, rolled my eyes and walked away. Anyone give me some advice please on how to tighten. Logic says it should be easy but nothing ever is. So before I start ripping seats out I thought I would ask the question.

I don't have a clear image of the seat frame, so all I can suggest is that you take the seat out and have a look.

You can recline the seat and tip it backwards onto the rear shelf for inspection, which is a lot safer than lifting it out.

Remove head restraint - Six bolts, the seatbelt shoulder bracket and the seat belt warning light wire, which has a connector.

It could be a loose hinge bolt, but it could also be a crack in the frame so check it out.

Anyone who has had a seat backrest give way doesn't want the feeling of terror twice!!

Thank you Dave. Looking as ever for easy fix. It’s a 2015 plus 4 with the seat bolsters on the side. I will do what you suggest and try to have a fiddle around before trying to remove seat.
