Trawling the dealers stock I stumbled across a 2002 Aero 8 prototype for sale at Richard Thornes which would be my ideal Morgan. Basically looks like a beefed up trad but with the oommph to match. I assume, in the absence of rear view photos, that the rear bodywork design is still trad too. I have to say that this really ticks all the boxes for me in terms of looks and performance and in balancing the Morgan traditional design with a modern twist. I think the wheels look fantastic with the trad body shape. No doubt the Aero 8 gang will disagree but I think this should have been the finished article albeit with a few more cosmetic tweaks. Now how can I can get those wheels to fit my Plus 8 ?

My word that does look a beast! It does look a bit like that someone has overinflated it. It would truly be unique though.

I was looking at that ad some week ago and also liked the look of the prototype. It has more classic DNA than the Aero which appeals to me. Hey, it's got a Morgan badge, so we are bound to love it.

Fascinating car, but being an ex-works-mule not for the faint hearted I guess Curious about the 2002 year, more likely 1999 I suspect

If that is the first prototype as the add says, that would be the on that Chris Lawrence Designed and Built with Charles Morgan. Has to be unique and a piece of unrepeatable Morgan Legend. Should eventually end up in a Motoring Museum.

Not sure if it is Adrian van der Kroft's car, I need to check the registration number from photos as he attended the first St. Tropez Aero event in a trad bodied Aero prototype. As Brian V says, as the Aero Series I went into production in 2001, this car must be older that 2002 - though maybe it was run on trade plates and only registered in this year?
