I just ran into the same problem, with my 2016 4/4. Came into the garage couple of weeks ago and there was a puddle of coolant on the ground and the reservoir was almost empty.
Called my dealer (about 150 miles from my home) to get some advice.
They would not want to commit to anything until seeing the car. So I went to a specialist
who works on Morgans since the 70ies. He identified the problem and told me that it all started, when MCC started installing the plastic-framed radiators.
He told me, there are some well made aluminum radiators on the market and gave me an estimate for the installation of one of those, but advised me to ask my dealer to make me an offer that would prorate the original radiator since it still was under warranty.

Called the dealer. They made an offer. But they would not deduct the plastic-piece (we don‘t do such wheeling and dealing (German word is Gemauschel)).

So I had the choice to drive the 150 miles (which really is my problem) with a leaking radiator, then wait - how long!? - for Morgan to decide the warranty claim. And then get the cheap piece of ‚let‘s cut the costs‘ back into the car, or pay a proud sum to continue my Moggie‘s life with an aluminium radiator.

Well, the car sits at the specialist nearby right now and gets his upgrade.
And I pay good money for a car under warranty.
Know what? I am SLIGHTLY disappointed.

I bought a new, bespoke car for around 60.000,-€ to avoid spending thousands in the first couple of years.

I think you have every right to be slightly disappointed. Bit of English understatement I think. I would be totally piss*d off with that and I think you should still 'mail Morgan and make a claim after all what have you got to loose?

I would protest like hell if I were you.

Under warranty, the dealer should replace like with like so to expect them or the factory to adjust the cost of an alloy radiator with the cost of the standard plastic one is perhaps being very hopeful indeed!
But yes....I’d be thoroughly pissed off that the radiator failed so early in your car’s life.

That is exactly how I see the legal situation at the moment.
Therefore, I am not going to write Morgan. I’d feel too much like Don Quijote...

I am endorsed to another crappy plastic radiator, which I don’t want.
And I fully understood about the Gemauschel

See, the thing is: for me this takes some of the fun out of owning a car like this.
Sometimes I think, it is much more fun to look at other folks Morgans, Jaguars and Lotus cars.... And so much cheaper

When the mechanic nearby saw the car for the first time, his comment was: “Oh, you invested all the money in the bespoke design... I would have considered some upgrades instead. To make it more roadworthy and reliable.”

Little did I know.

Anyway. It should be ready for pick up tomorrow and I hope, the fun of driving it will return in due time and chase away the anger.

I need to order an aluminium radiator then, my 2016 4/4 has covered 5,000 miles
