Hi guys

As title suggests any recommendations for an action camera and where to fit it.
I know some tracks won't allow suction pads and I don't have a roll bar. I'm off to Spa in a couple of weeks having a turn around the track.

Perhaps you build yourself something do fix the cam like a satnav.

Hi Malcolm,

Serious action camera users seem to go for GoPro. Geat quality and loads of accessories but all at a price.

I do a fair amount of country sports and some time ago bought a camera called Zennox. It is presently on offer at Norris of Penrith for about £16 (a considerable saving on what I paid!) and comes with a variety of mounts, also a waterproof case.

As to where to put, no roll bar is a bit of a shame, and I think you would need to experiment. Rather easy would be the badge bar and cross head lower arm. Also crash helmet though I have doubts this would be allowed.

You may need to be a little creative and it's a shame it's not wifi but for £16 !!!

You could also consider the 3M double sided sticky pad based mount. I notice you are in Hampshire, I am in RG28 and have a selection of things if you want to lok through them.

I have tried many mounts for my GoPro and by far the best so far is a suction mount on the windscreen. I will try a mount on the wooden bar behind the seat (I have a 1960 roadster with bench seat back). Shoulder, chest and head mounts didn't work out for me.

And as Malcolm stated, suction mounts are not allowed at some circuits...

I use a GoPro suction mount (a real one ,not a copy as I think these ,at least, are better) but with a cable tether.

It is a bit like an inner 'Bowden cable' so quite thin but provides a 'belt and braces' approach.I have it located on the sun visor mount.

I wonder if Circuits would consider this acceptable...?

For a trad your mount needs to be in keeping, so I suggest a piece of ash. Suitably varnished and attached with countersunk brass screws
. Somehow a go pro doesn't fit in with the flying jacket, deerstalker and string backed gloves.

Then you just need to secure your Bolex 16mm onto the ash mount!

I use a dash cam with good results. The only problem is limited or no autonomy when not connected to the power supply.
