Hi,
I am sure this has been answered before, but can’t find it on the search facility.
How critical is it that the front suspension is greased every 1000 miles?
Last service couldn’t get any grease in (ie came straight out on first pull).

You are correct, this topic has been covered many times but that doesn't make it any less important. It is very important that you grease the front suspension top and bottom every 1000 miles or so, even earlier if you like. If you don't do this, you will get increased wear and you will be in for some additional cost.
There are many experts on here who will be along soon ( spanner juggler for example ) who will give you chapter and verse. I can only recommend that you abide by their wise words.

Have been contemplating this very subject as we intend to do a very substantial mileage whilst in Britain next month, and would like to look after the old girl whilst travelling .

Did mine yesterday ready for a week Road Trip starting tomorrow.
I have fitted remote kit so the whole exercise took 10 mins

Regular greasing is essential but not too much grease though. Makes for interesting braking when its plastered all over the brake disc and pads ....

When you say the grease is coming out, do you mean you can see it emerging up under the main spring, or do you mean it's coming out from around the gun nozzle on the nipple?
If the former, then you have enough grease in there. If the latter, then either your gun is not latched on properly or the nipple is blocked.

Every 500 miles or once a month which ever comes first. Is this overkill? YES! But it is too easy to do this rather than pay for a rebush and King Pins as well as getting good handling and a good ride.

Agree with Button,
Grease often, maybe once a week in summer, which is Morgan season in Norway.
Remember also to wipe of old and new grease.
My grease always come out of the small spring at the bottom.
But I do wipe the upper areas anyway just to be sure.
I have a pack of use and throw away gloves in my garage for this job.

It's surprising how runny the grease gets in the warm weather. Needs topping up regularly.
