Car: 2 year old Plus 4 in superb condition 5000 miles.
Had it since last Oct and never missed a beat. Went to it this morning prep for a ride, took off the charger (proper sort to keep it topped up). Turned on ignition - everything lights up - turn again to start - nothing, not a sausage AARRGGGHHH.
Thinks...(bearing mind I've been tinkering with cars for years)- flat battery - Nope headlights work everything except starter. The I remembered reading about inertia switch so gets out finds it - press and click and away we went.
But, here is the problem and question to you knowledgeable ones. Last time it ran it was OK, came home, parked in the garage no thumps bumps, or rough roads it never missed a beat. Two weeks later having sat in the garage the Inertia switch has tripped??? I didn't actually check the switch connections but it would be a massive coincidence if it was something else that came right at the same time, and I heard/felt a define click when I pressed the rubber pad.
Has anybody had this experience or is the switch faulty?
Any advice, experience of the same (sort of stops the worrying) or comment please.

Though my 4/4 is somewhat older; I replaced my inertia switch a number of years ago. The old one kept tripping for no apparent reason, when the car was about 3 years old. I don’t recall the cost of the new one, but it was not expensive. The replaced switch is now 12 years old. Just at thought! As your +4 is so new, it might be worth just chatting to your dealer to check if disconnecting to replace, will upset any of the electronics?
