I'm sure that there must be some information on repairing a badly scuffed leather seat somewhere but I can't find it!
The edge of my drivers seat back has become badly scuffed - the result of sliding in and out of the car with things in my back pockets! Does anyone know how I can restore this damage please? I gues there is an area about 30mm x 80mm that requires attention.
Thanks in anticipation.

Brendan

Yep, I had the same problem with scuffed seats, sent Furniture Clinic a small sample of my leather and got back a kit with everything needed. Once completed the repair was invisible.

I’ve had excellent results with Gliptones (liquid leather) Scuffmaster

Use their conditioner to soften the leather then use their Scuffmaster dye as their instructions

They also do a fantastic leather cleaner

I have used this company’s products to good effect.
Send a small sample to them to match colour. Came back really good match.

If you don’t fancy doing it yourself, these folks are in Leicester and not too far from you. Did a great job for me on our old 4/4.

Worth a phone call. At the time, my seats were 25 years old and needed all new webbing so I removed the seats and took them there in the tin-top. I would have thought they can do your seats without you removing the seats.

I have the furniture clinic stuff for mine. I have done a couple of repairs with it and it is decent stuff. Still got some more to do though. Look at the videos on their website and search for leather repairs on YouTube.

Gliptone is fine but just make sure the match is good using a sample. Also when applied, it might be an idea to apply a clear sealant to protect these areas of high wear.

It might be a good idea also to fit the chrome protection strips to the trim edges in the door apertures for their protection. (Heart of England Morgans).

I've swapped the seat over before it happens to give even wear, and i take care to hit the correct part of the seat with my landing gear as i enter the car. Both seats are in excellent fettle for 7 years old.
How many cars have hou had where the drivers seat has done maybe 100k and the passengers seat has done maybe 10k ..so to speak
