Hehe,
Like Mr. Chapman arranging press launches and not telling anyone at the factory, including my friend who was Press / Publicity Officer...
She'd be summoned to a room full of journos by Mr C. and then left, solo, to get on with telling them the latest news, when even she didn't know what the latest was!
Cheers,
Graham (G4FUJ)

Excellent stuff Graham, we need more of this... I have just bought the Ludvigsen book on Chapman, but have not got round to reading it yet. So I'm relying on you to set the scene!

that's my thought too, the 1.6 THP flexible enough to give 150ish and 200 bhp, a smaller version of the Eva, a weight below 850kg and it's game on as long as price starts around the 30k mark. Not sure what an Eva is but absolutely right on the price, power and weight. But the Elise series are essentially modern cars so an alternative would need to look up to date. It would also need the sublime steering and easy handling of the Lotus. A 211 equivalent as well as a hardtop version. Lots of improvements could be made on the way. Roominess for example. Better chassis that didnt need replacement after a minor off. There really would be a big market - lotus is effectively abandoning its existing customers and at the moment there is nowhere else to go except to things like the Z4. Which is about as good equivalent for a Lotus fan as it would be for a Morgan fan.
