I've searched and I can't find the thread on this. Anyone know where it is?

The search engine on TalkMorgan isn't as helpful as you might imagine on this otherwise awesome site. I usually just google "Morgan 3W" and whatever I'm looking for, and it yields various TalkMorgan results, among others.

Here's one result on cam belts:

That has got to be the most tortuous path any timing belt has ever been forced through.

Perhaps Phil Bleazey can come up with a chain conversion wink

Has this just happened or is it a photo from some time ago as it looks to be an old specification engine. Looking at the photo, it appears that it doesn't have any cambelt case ventilation as the gasket is in place and no sign of spacers or vent holes. It has a pre-mod crankshaft gear and bolt, the type that makes an unplanned exit through the cover. There is a kit to update these, many were done FOC by dealers. Prior to the ventilation mods there were several cambelt failures but since then very few, if any. This was a common sight once but it all seems to be reliable now. It doesn't need a chain or gear conversion.

Yes, it just happened. I am now being made aware of the "upgrade" (Morgan-ish for stuff we should have done, but didn't, and now it will cost you).
