With all this hot weather I have been wondering if anyone has tried boosting the fan power output for the heater/air con? The a/c on my S4 is nice and cold but seems to lac the fan power to blow the chilled air into the car very well. I thought perhaps upgrading the fan motors maybe an option? All ideas welcome Michael

Roof up seems to assist the aircon to work effectively. It fighting a losing battle otherwise......

Agreed, but it does keep one's feet and legs cool, which is a BIG improvement over the Roadster! Hood up, with the heater on, it is a very effective de-mister.
I'm not sure how the heater box could be made more effective. Half the problem is that air from under the bonnet isn't really separated from the incoming air. One answer would be to position a new intake for the heater that pulled cold air from outside, but how to do it?
One way perhaps, could be to have a "throttle body intake scoop" on the side of the bonnet with a duct to the heater box. It would look OK.
Of course most of the year the heater is more important than the A/C.

I dont know whether this is relevant but on my old Lotus the aircon system used plastic box and piping etc from Italy. When I put a temperature sensor in the output of the aircon on full blast, it was very close to ambient because the various flaps that controlled the mixing of the air didnt properly shut off the heater. So what I was getting was a mixture of hot air and cold air.

Hi guys Thanks for the comments but I still feel the issue is the low air flow from the fans, the air flow is cold enough but just not powerful enough. Michael

I remember reading about an open top custom car in the USA. The owner had fitted a truck cab air-con system so he could be bathed in cool air with the top down. At what expense to engine power I dread to think

I think when I get a minute I will try removing the blower fan and see if I can find a upgrade for it 🤞🏻
