That's rather curvy Harald - I quite like that. Not heard of the car make before (just the suspension bit ).

Did you glean any info on latest Roadster build changes yesterday Graham?

After following SBM around Yes, I too was mightily impressed when I saw how well Steve's car coped with the backroads of Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire. I am pretty tempted myself, but since I fitted 4-leaf springs, panhard rod, anti-tramp bars and AVO shocks back in 2011 my car is pretty well-behaved at the rear end and with only 165bhp to keep in check it's well up to the job. But I think for a Roadster or Plus 8, I think it would make a massive difference. Hi Tim. My 2009 Plus 4 is suffering from a second sagging rear spring ailment in 22k miles. First replaced after about 15k miles. So I am looking at the options to replace. As you said the SSL 5L is probably an expense too far, so I would be interested in your satisfaction level with your set up, also were the leaf springs standard MMC replacements?

I'm very happy with my setup, I bought a set of 4-leaf rear springs from Mulfab. I think they are the same springs as fitted to the 4/4 Sport but you'd need to check with Peter.

Did you glean any info on latest Roadster build changes yesterday Graham? Absolutely nothing Richard. Although on my walk today there was a Roadster chassis in build with axle installed but no brake drums. However, discs are an Aero Racing option as far as I'm aware. Didn't have time to peruse the build book to see whether they were ordered though. If there is any change to the basic build spec tour guides haven't been told about it.

Many thanks for checking Graham. Guess its down to the dealer to chase spec. with MMC now.

Although I'm a little late to this thread, this may help
The recent write-up in Miscellany was a bit misleading on the Roadster spec, as this car was fitted with some optional upgrades, in the writers defence has was probably not made aware of this when he was lent the car to test
My personal experience of my own new 3.7 (first customer car with 5link) was that even the lads in the factory weren't fully up to speed with the revisions
But this is what you get, 5link rear, standard MMC front (not SSL as motioned at Geneva), drums to rear & I had to spec brake reaction bars to get them
To get factory fit Disc's all round you have to spec up the Aero Racing option, personally I'm happy with drum rear as it's very hilly where we live and I need a working handbrake (although reaching the bl*~*y thing is another story)

Thanks Jon, that concurs with what I've seen and learnt at the factory. I too have the brake reaction arms specd. and initially thought they were included in base spec, as I'd apparently not been charged for them. I now realise they are a cost option the dealer included in the deal.

Richard, when you get delivery I'd love to know how you get on with the handbrake lever & how fast your skin can grow back on the top of your thumb knuckle
