I went for a Mashup, they are made from recycled fibres.

Wouldn't have anything to do with their advertisement of a few years ago that one of their hats passed three times through an elephant? grin2
I've been using baseball caps (because I seem to have gathered a number over the years of my seagoing career) but they aren't entirely satisfactory. Perhaps I should pay a visit to Cotswold Outdoors. smile

You can carry off a flat cap Mr B .......with elan 🤓. Dont see you in a Tilly in Stanley somehow.

As far as Tilleys go, I’ve had one of their hemp ones. A bit less structured on the crown as a result and therefore looks slightly battered. Not tried it in the car......I will!

A full leather flying helmet for the winter and a white cotton LM helmet for the summer.
Both have ear hole flaps to keep the wind out and a neck flap for keeping your neck warm.
Obviously no side screens in any season.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

I've never owned a Tilley, but after reading all the accolades, I see one in my future.

I normally wear a baseball cap or a flat cap.

For longer journeys, particularly at higher speeds, I either use a flying helmet or wear ear-plugs.

I'm not sure of the science, but having your ears covered makes driving far less tiring.

Only time my hat has blown off it ended up in my footwell as the airflow was from behind then forward as it swirled over the screen.
You could also get a small clip set to anchor the hat to your collar. A short cord with spring grips on either end.
I have a choice of hats from flat cap to baseball to trapper or peaked waterproof with fold down flaps.
I have a straw hat with chinstrap too....great in hot sun.

Mines a T5 but I remove the foam flotation pad to allow more cooling.

As an aside SWMBO was a hearing aid audiologist and insisted I wore ear plugs when I was riding bikes.

They were custom made ear moulds designed to attenuate certain frequencies but still give reasonable general hearing and awareness.

I believe some musicians use something similar given some of the mega amplifiers you rockers have stacked up on stage.

I now use these if I'm doing any distance or motorway type driving and it does help to relax and significantly reduce fatigue let alone the benefit of delaying age related hearing loss a bit. Apparently wind noise can be quite harmful because you eventually get used to it and ignore it but the damage is still being done.

Also useful when travelling with her when I take a bend a bit too fast.

I wear an adjustable flat cap - which goes on tightly and will stay on at high speed with the sides off. A baseball cap is only good up to about 60mph.
