I had been planning this for a long time.And since we are in Spain for the whole month of September, it will come in handy.


First made a paper template.

The piece of bale cotton on the shelf was just big enough.

A test drive confirmed that everything is secure.

Now we need to update the half tonneau that we made a while ago.


And then we can brave the Spanish sun.

The following images are of a car I saw at the MOG 50 event in Luray, VA this year. The red piping at the bottom of the Bimini top hides a zip that cleverly attaches the lower aft portion of the hood, including the three flexible windows. Once the windows are zipped in place, the side curtains affix as normal and the car is as weathertight as it would be with the stock hood. Note that I am NOT claiming the car is weathertight...

It's an interesting design, and allows for better weather protection on a trip without the storage consumption of a full hood.

GParkins that's top work far beyond my capabilities. But the way the tonneau is modified comes in handy. Thanks for the tip.

That was a brilliant design. He didn't make it himself, but helped design it. A lot of us were envious.
