I feel sorry for the customers on here that have waited a long time to take delivery of theirs, it seems Frazer Nash is the real hold up by not delivering within the terms of the contract.
This seems to have highlighted a knowledge gap at MMC which they are redressing so probably good news in the long run.

Their electric "partner" , Frazer Nash Energy Systems is probably caught up in the Receivership of Frazer Nash Research Ltd. They share the same MD and seem to be a subsidiary, although it is unclear.

Frazer Nash is part of Kamcorp Group, which also owned Bristol Cars, which has also gone under.

It looks as though MMC made a bad call going with these two companies, and will have to go back to the drawing board. Unfortunate, to say the least.

Maybe there was a market for the EV3 as an urban fun vehicle, but for me at least so much of the pleasure is in hearing that V Twin engine note and the lovely whiff of burnt metal (or is that just mine?). A silent M3W is missing something that is a big part of driving enjoyment with these things.

I truly planned to buy one, had the V2 and really enjoyed it
the Electric seemed to overcome most of the weak points of the M3W
and living in the city I thing it would also be the smarter choice

will have to wait some more
or buy another 'normal' one????

I'm disappointed. I'd been keeping half an eye on it and was definitely interested.

A pity as they had the potential to bring new people to Morgan ownership, I wonder what happens now for those that had paid deposits- one or two from TM?

The project is merely "delayed" sir. smile

Hopefully the 3 years incubation will mean 3rd time lucky for drivetrain suppliers. A BMW i3 drivetrain would have nice performance and range smile

Too bad about the loss of the drivetrain suppliers, but actually it is very good news for those who were in line to buy the first units out. If we have learned anything about new models from the M3W experience, it is that Morgan's engineering of new models is actually not complete for 4 or 5 years after the model's release date, during which time it uses new customer experiences and money to track down and solve the engineering details that would have been better solved before public sales. I love these cars and own several, and I guess Morgan acts the way it does because it doesn't have the resources or critical mass to do it the right way.
In any event, I will never again be first in line for a new model. I will wait a couple years after they are out to order the electric version of the three wheeler.

That's a good point about a new type of customer and as said it is only another delay, on the positive side battery capacity is improving slowly grin2 .

Sorry to learn this electric adventure stalled. It shows that although electric drive is simple, its robust technical implementation in a car is not. Batteries remain the weakest link. Further the electric cars are very expensive. Looked at an BMW i3s for my wife, but boy 57keuro is not cheap...
I do hope MMC did not loose too much money on this failed project and can monetize the obtained experience later.
Cheer,
Bert
