Sospan,
When fitting the pedal, be sure that it has free travel and doesn't foul the current "arm" to the throttle roller. It is a delicate balance - otherwise you'll need judicious use of an angle grinder to ensure uninterrupted movement. Don't ask me how I know!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Robbie

Will do!I've trial fitted it to check its action - not bolted in - hand held.
Painting to be done next + polish.

Pedal painted and polished.
What length bolts though?
I want to fit s/s socket heads so what length needed?
I thing 5mm bolts are ok but undecided on length to go through floor. I will use s/s washers and nyloc nuts.

Can't remember exactly... but if you think longer then you can easily cut down to size from the underside.

If you want to go with the measure twice, cut once approach.. then use a piece of coat hanger wire to probe depth before purchasing bolts required.

thanks cereal - as soon as i posted i did a HOMER ... DOH!
locate position/drill holes/measure/buy bolts !!!
The pedakl comes set to take countersunk bolts so socket biolts are the obvious. washers/plate to spread the load underneath bolt.
Common sense really!

It never ceases to amaze me that buying such a specific item at not insignificant cost, someone would have thought of the 'Fitter' and supplied a couple of nuts, bolts and washers with it. idea
Even most powered toys come with batteries supplied these days (clever, these Chinese!) hide

I agree! It's such a basic thing to do - especially for such aspecific use. Even if the cost was upped to cover the cost, this would save having to find suitable bolts. I have a small stock of s/s bolts but not in the size needed. Typical!
Ah well... my storage box will have to have anotgher compartment filled brought into use.

I bolted in my DIY organ pedal about 30 years ago with two short wood screws and it never gave any troubles. What happened to the traditional Morgan philosophy (KISS)?

Frank,
I'm all for keeping it simple but it's nice if the simple approach also produces an end product that does the job it's supposed to do That didn't seem to be the case here with the way the throttle roller was originally fixed?
regards,
G

I fitted my pedal a while ago now. Its much better than the old roller pedal. More comfortable and allows heel and toe too!
I used 6mm s/s countersunk bolts with s/s washers and nyloc nut, then cut excess to length.
I spent a bit of time finding the best location point
taped the floor and drew round the base of the pedal
Checked the travel and made sure no interference with the original pedal rod.
There is a rattle when lifting my foot right off, but not a real issue.maybe some sort of soft insert, just enough to cushion the metal- neoprene wondermaterial?
