I have a feeling it was one of the stateside boys that posted.

It is the clutch release bearing and slave that is from a Volvo, the clutch plate itself has not been identified.

That is the information I have as well, only the release bearing/slave cylinder has been positively identified. If anyone has the true identity of the clutch pressure and friction plates I would be interested so I can add this information to the Alternative Parts List and possibly save some people (and me this winter) a lot of money and time.

Sorry I thought it was the plate as well.

are there images of the parts in question? Could probably visually identify them if they are a major maker.

There are some images in this thread of both the clutch plate and the pressure plate.

The clutch has a very small disc friction surface which takes a beating from the torque of the S&S motor. I think this is the weak link?

2Sharp: That is the problem I am facing with an engine rebuild, no S&S dealers want to touch the X-Wedge engine and the parts have to be ordered through the Morgan Factory because of the License Agreement. So you have to go to a Morgan Dealer to get the work done, in my case sending the car to Illinois which is next door to the S&S Factory. Waiting for MMC to respond and send the parts.

Krazy Horse will do a big bore upgrade.

Otherwise try Matts machine Shop for S&S parts

I have seen at the factory a 128 inch3 engine waiting fitment in a new M3W, presumably to special order as it doesn't seem to be a listed option. Never seen anyone on here admit to owning one though wink
