If I lived in Malvern and I wish I did many times over I really would have to own a Mog wether I liked one or not ! The thought of living in such a place , the home of Mogs ! I don't think I have every disliked either of my Mogs over the years , can think of a few tintops though !

If you come to a Morgan without previous experience of classic two seaters, then it will be a shock to the senses.

I had my first MG Midget at 19 and have rarely bothered with comfort or saloons.

So having spent most of my motoring life with unrefined and leaky cars, my Roadster was a big surprise. It was way better than I expected.

Over the last ten years my love for it has grown. I love it for what it is, not what it might be or should have been.

The Plus 4 is the same. A superb long distance car, far better than our Golf GTD which now is hardly used.

Ok, not ideal in 30 degrees and traffic but a small price to pay for what they give.

Well I’m in the “bought a new one” camp and I have never felt short-changed or that I’d made a mistake buying it. The car is everything I thought it would be except even comfier than I thought on really long journeys. The only “flip flopping” I do is what I’ve always done with open-top cars where I sometimes get fed up of the road noise from other cars and think “is it worth it?”. It won’t be replaced when sold.

This is how I rationalised the purchase of my Morgan. After several 'supercars' that felt a bit OTT, I had a long think about what I wanted a 'fun' car for - where would I go in it, what would I use it for. For me, it's mostly an hour at a time - not too much longer. Country lanes, not motorways.... I have done the South of France in one and it was great to have the car at the destination, but the journey was without any comfort!

A Morgan is a unique and idiosyncratic car - it's not an Aston Martin or Jaguar. However, the price of them makes us compare them to more exotic and luxurious machines.

I have never had a "boring" car..even the company cars ranged from Land Rovers to BMW M sports...I love driving /fettling and improving and yes I admit I like to stand out in the herd and drive something different.

I am on my 2nd Morgan having had 20+ years of Porches (911/356) and I use my Supersports most days and enjoy every journey..I make long journeys just because I can ( 240 miles to Wolverhampton for 24 Samosas!!!)

Every time I press the start button I get a little fizz and like some others on here I always say well done to the car after every trip and stroke my St Christophers medal.

So there has never been a time when I wished I was in a different car...there I have said it:

Being a nutter also helps.....

I have thoroughly enjoy my Morgan's.

Every minute of every trip no matter how short or how long.

In spite of the very many issues that I have had to face wth two of my cars - I found my Morgan headspace and forged on to get fixes sorted.

Very disappointed though with my 2012 M3W. I really did think it be 100% all the time! Never mind I am still so delighted to have had one. And have very nearly bought another on two occasions before my inner voice of doubt won over!

So,now when I bought the 80 I declared it a keeper - and indeed that was the plan.

But plans change - we all know that.

Now well into Retirement I have been hit with unforeseen significant financial outflow! So can no longer justify having what for me is a very self indulgent luxury.

So,the 80th is sold😁.
And my Morgan journey for now is over.

I have had six years of great fun. And met so many great owners whom I consider friends.

I have really mixed emotions. And will miss my MOG adventures .

But never say never - you might see me back in the fold at some time in the future.
