Same here. There have only been a couple of times when I was glad the trip was over. I put it down to a combination of the traffic/road combination causing irritation. Mind you, when back onto near-home roads that feeling went.
I used to have a 60 mile commute(each way) and bought diesel cars as they suitedthe distance/motorway. Now an ability to carry grandchildren/luggage etc is a major factor. I have looked at electric as the majority of journeys are within the range but held off due to initial cost and ownership costs being uncertain.

There are days when the Mog seems rough and crude, then the next time I drive the same journey it seems smooth and refined. I'm convinced that part of the issue is temperature, the suspension and car need to warm up.
But as others have said, it also is linked to how I feel. But when I and the Plus 8 are in harmony it is a wondrous experience.
I'm planning a solo run to Geneva, via Amsterdam and Lyon in the early autumn. That will be the longest run I'll have made, about 2500 miles. I could take the AMG43 or the new M140, but that would be too sensible.

Great post. 15 or so years of varying Morgan ownerships so far but when I add the + to the - I come out wanting to drive my current Morgan. It’s been frustrating whilst invigorating, annoying whilst exciting, expensive whilst good value in fact a complete conundrum.
Nothing is for free/ so the “ ups” are paid for by the “ downs “ in Morgan ownership.
And I love the “ ups” to much.

And since when have YOU been sensible, Peter..?  I have days when it seems an effort, but things are easy these days as we have alternatives. The warning signs are when the alternatives become the default position.. For me the big bugbear is all the other traffic. Noisy, pushy, dirty and usually daft or aggressive.. But there are times when the air is crisp, the hood is down and the roads clear..

Interesting to see how many had an omg! moment when first driving their first Morgan. I can confess to that too. Having spent more than I should have I decided to stick it out and not admit it to  After about 6 weeks of avoiding thinking about it, but driving the car every day as it was my transport to work, I found I was smitten. I haven't looked back since.

I have thoroughly enjoy my Morgan's.
Every minute of every trip no matter how short or how long.
In spite of the very many issues that I have had to face wth two of my cars - I found my Morgan headspace and forged on to get fixes sorted.
Very disappointed though with my 2012 M3W. I really did think it be 100% all the time! Never mind I am still so delighted to have had one. And have very nearly bought another on two occasions before my inner voice of doubt won over!
So,now when I bought the 80 I declared it a keeper - and indeed that was the plan.
But plans change - we all know that.
Now well into Retirement I have been hit with unforeseen significant financial outflow! So can no longer justify having what for me is a very self indulgent luxury.
So,the 80th is sold😁.
And my Morgan journey for now is over.
I have had six years of great fun. And met so many great owners whom I consider friends.
I have really mixed emotions. And will miss my MOG adventures .
But never say never - you might see me back in the fold at some time in the future.
Hope to keep posting on here - my much loved addiction!

Really sorry to hear this Neil and hope you can find a way back into ownership again somehow soon. You are such an enthusiast of the marque and without the rose tinted spectacles, always the balanced view. Keep on posting  .
