Has anyone tried the new Redline GL-5 oil? It specifically mentions Morgan 3 Wheeler: https://www.redlineoil.com/80w250-gl-5-gear-oil-2

Interested to try it , but doesnt seem t be available in UK yet (DemonTweaks)
I can see it on Ebay for £48 plus £160 postage !!!! .
One for US guys to test first

I was the original tester for the redline. I put it in a new replacement box and it has been quiet from the start. I don't know for certain, but I think it is the oil.

Incidentally, in the for sale forum you will see my M3W listed for sale. I decided to keep my M3W before the add was visible and requested it not be placed in the for sale forum but I was too late. So disregard my add offering my M3W for sale.

My bevel box has passed over 41,000 miles and I have used the Redline GL-5 almost from the beginning. My bevel box behaves. I have also become quite convinced that what others may be complaining about is due to the belt noise as it engages the sprocket. I have the new steel one with two flanges and it has to squeeze the air out before it seats. That's a great deal of air happening a thousand times a second at speed! That would make noise! The other issue is the seat belt hole in the back of the seat. Acoustically, it's a straight line to all the noisy behaviors back there. The squeal of the belt eating the aluminum sprockets felt like having a sharp number 2 pencil jammed in my right ear! It hurt and I also believe it did not help my already existing tinnitus.
This is merely an opinion of mine. I might be right. I might not. Anything to further our institutional knowledge of these amazing contraptions...

Michael, It seems that your colder location actually helps to tame the bevel box. We just drove 650 miles in 100+ degree weather to MogWest gathering and my bevel box screamed like a jericho trumpet  you cannot confuse that sound with the belt screeching

You may be right. Most of my driving occurs from the 40's to the low 80's. Around here if it's really warm the humidity is up there as well and no fun. The skip fire mode has only engaged twice so far so that's a fair tell.
I do admit that the conditions I drive in most resemble that of England and its lack of extremes.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
