I am sure Rob Pike will admit to owning one as he has put it to good use on the race track with a win at Donington a few weeks ago.

And he's written an article for this month's Mog Mag mentioning it smile

Yes I have a stage 3 engine supplied by the factory. Not scared to admit it...it's not as if I wear dresses at the weekend!!

Was racing at Anglesey this weekend but unfortunately something in the drive train has come loose and was ratting so withdrew just it case it came off inside and locked up the drive train.
Very loud and torquey

Rob thanks for jumping in. Any chance you have compared it to a stage 1 or 2 morgan?

I mentioned this thread to Stuart at Krazy Horse today and his advice is that the big bore kit itself doesn't make much difference, however it does allow fittment of S&S gasflowed and big valve heads which do.

It's not as big a performace step as stage 1 v stock or S2 v S1 and is reletively expensive. But if you want to go beyond Stage 2 Big bore and heads is the way to go.

He's happy to talk if anyone wants too - but persevere in trying to get through as they are pretty busy at the momnet.

All good - I particularly enjoyed sitting in the café whilst the car was on the dyno shaking the whole place smile

It was pretty much all motorway home and very hot so I've not really had a chance to fully enjoy the new cams but so far its definitely smoother and more linear with more instant pickup.

I got the dyno plots from Dan and he did say it was 35 degrees in the dyno so that may have had an effect. Anyway I've now got 84.84 bhp at 5,251 rpm and 98.63 ft/lb of torque at 2,929 rpm.

I was initially a bit disappointed at the power but Dan said a stock M3W would be about 62 bhp on their dyno so overall +20 isn't bad.

What is impressive is the torque curve - basically 86 ft/lb by 2,000 rpm and above 90 from 2,100 - 4,700.

Sounds good, Chris. Factory Stage 1 kit will be fitted to mine on Friday, when it’s with RTCC for its 4,000 mile service. Am looking forward to seeing what difference that will make. 😊
