On My +8 Bitsa I had a hard time finding the right muffler setup. I started with very long Glass Packed items. Too noisy. I also tried other mufflers, then Heinz Stromquist showed up at "Devil's Punchbowl" (Coast of Oregon) and I heard the sound I wanted, quiet with a soft burble. I looked and saw a ordinary oval muffler on each side. I asked Heinz where He got them. I don't remember but think these came from an ordinary Auto Parts store, they were not expensive. I did the same and was able to tuck them under the running board neatly. They were still a little loud so I installed Glass Pack ends. Perfect!!
