As I understand it the MMC 5L rear suspension dispenses with the need for anti-tramp bars and the Panhard rod is built into the new geometry.

The sump clearance is better on the 3.7 Cyclobe engined cars , but it is still not great. It all depends on the type of roads you drive on. In Europe we are beset with traffic calming measures , speed bumps , sleeping policemen etc so it has become an essential mod . If you don't encounter these then it may be OK for you. It is always something you can fit later if you feel the need.

Exactly that: one turns heat on or off and the others turns fan up or down.
Enjoy your new Roadster when you get it. I am very happy with mine although I had to sort out the rev hang (ECU upgrade) and ride ( suspension mods by New Elms).

Thanks for confirmation and comments thumbs

I guess the heat control drives an electric valve in the heater feed.

Thanks for all input, which has been very helpful.

I will hold off on the king pin replacement, skip for now remote greasing, stick with the stock oil pan and assume that the 2018 roadster has a control that allows you to shut off coolant flow into the cab heater.

I am inclined to go with the Wolf "skid plate" as I see many who have commented favorably (although there are contrary views that this device may cause serious problems in the case of a really hard hit: http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/roadsterantitrampissue.html#SUMPS). I have a 2007 Aero 8 and smashed one oil pan already and am inclined to have whatever extra protection is available, even though I realize that if you really hit something hard, it could be a mess. Generally, on roads that I encounter here in the U.S. the main problem is not something sticking up in the middle of the road to accommodate a gate closing, but simple speed bumps, and these are not the kind of things that slam you to a stop, just scrape and make a scary noise. I think an aluminum plate would help in this situation.

I think that I will have the exhaust manifold ceramic coated, as I have done this with very good results in terms of lowering engine bay heat on several cars that I have built. I will wait on the radiator although I fear that the 2018 roadster still shares the same plastic tank radiator used on the less powerful traditional models. It apparently is not that hard to change out later and easily available in a higher capacity aluminum version from Mulfab. The U.S. in the mid=Atlantic gets hot and stays hot in the summertime and overheating is a common problem in specialty or older cars. I have several cars that are repeat offenders. If any of you have had overheating issues on the new roadster, I would appreciate hearing about it, as there is still time for me to order a big aluminum radiator from Mulfab and get it in before the engine.
Here is the spec for my order, if any of you have comments or suggestions although I think that it will shortly be too late to change. It is going to be black, with black interior and black wheels and the black pack and the flat black racing numbers circle on the cowl (as in the U.S. cowl, the sheet metal just in front of the windshield, not the nose cone)==I guess the black is sorta sinister, but I haven't had a black car in a long time, and I am an old man with white hair and a white beard so no one will feel threatened.

Just to put your mind at ease, here is a photo of the underside of a 3.7 Roadster. Taken from the front looking rearwards, you can see just how flat and tucked away the sump is on the 3.7 cars. The lowest point of the car is the dip of the chassis cross member.

Wolf & Brands Hatch Morgan do a 'skid' plate that bolts to this cross member to enable the dip to be ramped at an angle to avoid hitting at a vertical angle, but this comes at a price of a few millimetres loss of overall clearance, so it's a swings & roundabout type of decision.

Hope this helps.

Similar spec to mine. Asked a knowledgable MMC guy when car last seen in finishing bay, what improvements he suggested for the front suspension. His answer was AVO adjustable shocks. Having heard comments from others re nodding front I'll probably go with them but want to feel the benefit over standard ones first.

Saw no point in battery conditioner, I have more than one charger and why pay MMC prices. Ditto start button as you still have to use key first. A nice retro addition I guess but more meaningful on the three wheeler with its guarded button.

Here's hoping both our cars live up to expectations cheers

Richard, the knob just operates a simple pull/push cable, but at least there's no eletrickery to malfunction

Ah thanks. That would explain why the tiny knob was so stiff wink
