Please let us know the answer! Also might be worth asking if he tried loading a 5 speed on it... and whether his trailer can handle its weight - should do as it has brakes from the look of it...

I was looking at dual axle - but not many options for small trailers. Brakes would seem to be a good idea as the total load will be 850-950Kg (assuming a 500Kg M3W). Headboard would be nice for deflecting road crud. Low loading of course. But the biggest issue is infilled load - most small trailers are 2 treads and thats your lot. Of course one could get the tin snips out and jerry rig your own middle track...

Phoenix have made a trailer similar to the one in the pics I posted earlier, there is a picture and description on page 14 of the July MTWC Bulletin. Price was quoted as £1700 for an unbraked version.

The reply in full :

Hello Graham,

Thank you for your contact and interest in a 3 Wheeler trailer.
The trailer on my website was a commission for a private client.
Built entirely by hand as a one off, not factory produced.
I do not have jigs to reproduce it but I would be very happy to make another one with the up to date knowledge, understanding and experience I have from doing this one and with the latest information including the processes involved and in gaining UK Individual Vehicle Approval certification which is now a mandatory requirement for any new trailer in the UK.

This trailer was fully braked and had maximum gross laden weight of 1,000 Kgs.
The unladen weight of the trailer was approximately 300 Kgs.

The price would be £11,500.

This price is for the same trailer as the one on the website.
The trailer would be fully galvanised inside and outside and have certification of UK Individual Vehicle Approval.

I have seen other Morgan trailers which have failed!
I can build the trailer to any dimension required.
I hope this all makes sense to you, please feel free to contact me for any further information.

Kind Regards

Clinton Smith
