Simple but basic question from a fledgling +8 owner who inherited the car in the Summer so has never messed with the hood or side screen's.

Yes, yes I know some of you will be driving around this Winter with the hood down through sleet and snow. However for the more delicate amongst us can the car be driven with the hood up and screen's off as a happy compromise? Any risk of it taking flight over 50mph?

Would welcome opinion on other's experiences.

Roof down & sidescreens on. Half tonneau in place, and wrap up well. Some of the best days are early morning with a clear blue sky and frost on the ground. It's really good.

I, and a pal of mine, will drive with hood up sidescreens off.
Has to be very cold / very wet (or moderately wet if SWMBO is in car) for me to put sidescreens on...

Cheers,

Hood up, side screans off is my favourite set up. I like the look of the car with this arrangement although it is far from cosy, plenty of breeze gets in. I would not like a motorway journey set up like this too much buffeting.

when the sun is hitting hard, sunny
you have to ride hood up/sidescreens down,
otherwise you end up like Boshly, errrr, like a cooked lobster I mean, exting
and sadly then you also have to speed to keep it cool
that's why Hopwood has airco in his Aero8, he's not allowed to speed camera

all names possible link-able to members of this forum are pure coinsidence and should not be taken personal sherlock

Hood up, side screens off is a very pleasant way to travel.

But when it gets cold and wet, whilst I admire everyone who wears waterproofs to keep dry and/or rugs and eccentric head wear to keep warm, I simply put the roof up and sidescreens on.
