There is also a guy running around with magnaflows that he added which sounded like it was a good solution as well. Might be an option if you want to retain the fish tails and fit it together.

The cloud in the silver lining (although some may see it the other way around!) is that it really is very loud. At steady revs (when not accelerating or decelerating) I think it is actually quieter than before but when you come off the gas or go on it, it makes a huge amount of noise. Coming off, there’s lots of snap, crackle and pop (generally good), going on it’s ear splitting (not so good). On the drive back from the dealer, I set off the alarm of a car parked on the side of the road at one point! It is quite fun, driving through Oxford, to slip the car into neutral and blip the throttle and see people jump on the pavement. If you’re of the hooligan tendency, you’d love it, I think. I suspect I will get used to it (and I do really like how much easier it is driving around at slower speeds, in particular) but have told my dealer to hang on to my old pipes just in case I decide at some point that I want to reverse it to what it was. The upcoming Grindelwald trip will be a long test run of the kit. The G56 pipes are a bit (a lot?) quieter, I believe, and I would have gone with those if MMC had not said that any Stage 1 kit rather than their own would invalidate the engine warranty.

Good to hear you're enjoying the improved performance.

They will quieten down over the first few hundred miles. Mine has had MMC stage 1 for about 14,000 miles and they're not subjectively louder than G56 (at least until I had the Stage 2/3 cams fitted which seems to have made them louder!)

Just ordered the MMC Stage 1 exhausts at £964 (which are out of stock, naturally, so I wonder if they will cannibalise a new vehicle). I looked at G56s and, apart from the warranty issue, if I wanted to replicate my current black heat guards I would have had to powder coat the new guards as G56 no longer offers black ones.

Stage 2 cams etc to follow?
