A couple of phots showing cars that bookend the 50 year history of the Plus 8. First, Bill Fisk's concept from 1967, including the bonnet bulges to clear part of the induction. The car has had a long and hard life, and the body shows it. Mechanically in great condition, she ran up the hill without effort! Thanks Bill and the team. Next to it in blue is the first official prototype....the First of the Many. Moving to the other end of the time line a few Aero Plus 8s from 2012 through to 2018. Tarka sits next to a Trad +8 in black, the last production Plus 8. It lives in Jersey and has very few miles on the clock. It was a privilege to have been part of the party.

Excellent day at Prescott, thanks to all who brought their Plus 8's for us to admire, I had a couple of early runs up the hill in our Roadster and it was slippery in the drizzle
The gesture by the MMC to pay the Bugatti Trust to open & allow us all free entry was well received looking at the number of visitors

We were watching you go off the start line in Tarka Peter......we wondered if it was a hybrid it sounded so quiet!

What a wonderful weekend, we really enjoyed the weather, all the people we talked to and Sunday on the Hill. Thanks every one!. Dave, sorry we didn't get to meet! The event organisation was great, the factory site looking smarter than ever and the tour guides and employees doing a wonderful job!
One thing that I noticed, but hadn't before seen, was a naked 2018 Plus 8 Chassis: the changes to the front end are substantial and I now wonder if a straight 6 would fit. I'd like to do an "inch tape" comparison, but don't think the opportunity is likely to arise.
I was "Home Alone in Malvern" on Saturday, so free to wander and chat. Caroline spent the day with her Sister who lives near: we overnighted at Chateau Impny near to where Carolne's sister lives. It is a magnificent pile, we had an apartment in one of former outbuildings, the coach house I think. Good value, spacious and quiet. The buffet breakfast is not special, I thought the days of coffee in an urn had gone!
On the run down the M5 to Prescott I almost wimped out: the rain was torrential but past the Ross Spur the rain eased and the cloud lifted, so we stuck with Plan A and went to the second half. Brilliant fun, we had three, increasingly quick runs up the hill in the morning: they demonstrated that I must stop procrastinating over replacing the tyres....there isn't much wet grip on the rears!
Watching the aerobatic display, amazing and gut wrenching...we were approached by a charming American, over on vacation. He asked if I was Mr Jenks. Replying that indeed I am, he said "so am I!!!". What chance meeting another Morgan loving Jenks at Thrill on the Hill? He is a recently retired NY Firefighter, his wife part of the NY State National Guard. they were with their two daughters. We chatted for a while about the infrequently found "Jenks" name and the Morgan scene in the USA. He is hoping that the MMC plan to import 300 Roadsters and +4s next year will cause some older cars to come on to the market, so he can buy one for fun!
We left at about 3, had a un remarkable but wet drive back: I need to wash Tarka, who performed flawlessly, including staying totally dry inside.
A great weekend, organised mainly by Jayne Jones. Sadly for us Jayne left Morgan after the summer shutdown, so future Morgan events may well be wet. Thanks for all the great past events Jayne!! sorry to have missed you and Caroline Peter, but saw the car and it was looking good.... only using camera phone and by the time it made its mind up to take the picture, you had gone P.M. sent too James

Just back from a great few days...
Always enjoy meeting up with TMers..as DaveW said I said...generally we're a nice bunch of people.
Never enough time to talk to everybody and see everything !!!
JBW..Yes first in the carpark on Saturday and then Mr Gilbert turns up in his special ARV6 and makes me clean the Almond Tart with his special spray on cleaner...what a guy...full valet kit in his foot locker !!!..when I grow up I want to be like him !!
Saw your car covered up on Sunday at Prescot...had a look under the cover but you two weren't there !!!
The Morgan branding on my forehead has nearly gone...Steve Morris said he wanted to extend the brand but I didn't think he meant that type of brand !!!
Gave SBM his birthday present and a big hug...nearly didn't see him as he had a normal shirt on !!!!...you really don't look 70 Steve.
After avoiding the issue for a long time I finally capitulated and accepted one of DaveWs signed.numbered book marks (I hate to see a grown man cry !!)..I may start a register of Dave's bookmarks !!!!...speaking of which I saw a couple more Supersports and have updated the list for those who care !!!
Now I need to sort out a replacement screen for my car..got hit by flying stone on Friday on way down...Autowindscreens York assure me they can supply and fit this Friday ...we'll see !!!

We were watching you go off the start line in Tarka Peter......we wondered if it was a hybrid it sounded so quiet! I was being VERY careful... the rear ZZ3s are from 2012, down t 1mm above the wear bars and if nothing else the first run up the hill confirmed the need for new rubber! the 2nd and 3rd runs were faster...but the backs spun up on the start even at 3000 rpm in 2nd.....!! I've ordered Michelin Pilot Sport S tyres. Should have them next week!

Great weekend all round, good to meet you James B W and get upgrade envy looking at all of your mods. Also, thanks to Colin for the run up the hill in your lovely +8.
As Peter says it was not easy getting any traction from the start, but what's a bit of wheelspin amongst friends! I think my three runs up the hill were best left there before confidence overcame ability.
Graham and all the other Marshalls, many thanks for doing your thing whilst the rest of us had fun.
Let's hope we have a drier day at Imber next week.

I'm still cautious but tonight in the pouring rain clean get away from the lights in 1st gear, slight wiggle but hey gotta have some fun I have put 10k on mine now, the original Conti's lasted 11k! That might of been my fault

I fishtailed it on the first part of the hill before the tight hairpin and from then on kept foot lightly on the right pedal !
