in selling the Aero.......
Love the GTD40....but.....its a VERY different experience.
I'm older now than last time I had one (I was 46 when I sold my last one, I'm 60 now) and I'm not sure I enjoy driving it as much as I used to. Its a pretty epic car, bloody quick and drives really nicely, but although I actually have more room than the Aero when I'm installed in the thing, I'm finding it a bit....claustrophobic. It's probably just an age thing, I may feel better about it after driving it some more, but I've found myself trawling the 'net for good S1's already!

I've recently moved from an Evora 400 to my S3, and am really enjoying the lower limits of the Aero, you had to be doing silly speeds in the Lotus, where as the fun in the Aero is considerably (licence friendly) slower.

Well only time will tell, you've scratched the itch whatever happens so won't have any regrets about that looking forwards.

Good luck and enjoy that power.

They are habit forming. I went out in one of the very well built Cobra from the local emporium recently and all i felt was that it was a lout. In theory it should be similar to the S2, V8 sidepipes, open top, smiles and love for its character. Yet it just felt like a handful waiting to kill me. Either by design by luck the Aero is a great balance of power and smoothness when you are not in the mood.

Are you by chance the same Simon, who used to own a very nice TR6 with a V8 engine?

I fully understand Simon.
I had my S1 for 8 years and it was starting to have a few niggles so bought the Aero 8 SS which was my dream car and put the S1 in storage. It's a brilliant car to look at - if you know what I mean but now really missing the S1 as it had "character". However, I think putting the SS in hibernation instead may make "my other half" question any sanity I have!

T

I suffer from the same bipolar issue. S2 and the Coupe are not the same car despite being quite similar components. We were going to sell the S2 to fund the Coupe but it did not quite work out that way. The S2 was lovely and we could not part with it.
