Where did you source the plastic ramps Neil they look good.

Well after another peep under the car i saw nothing to worry about so set off cautiously but after about 30 miles felt ok to push on home. 3 hour non stop and no probs. Will get her up on ramps tomorrow and have a proper look. I think Peter (Gambalunga) has it nailed as the rear leaf springs are definitely part of the problem as the car sits about 25mm lower on the drivers side. I have been watching the recent posts on the subject as the previous owner had the leaf springs changed at 14000 mls. Now up to 23000 so why so much wear?
Still pondering what to do, but it needs to be fixed.

But do note, they were priced at £50 when I bought them, so shop around - this link has them at twice the price for some reason.

You could use levelling ramps used for caravans/motorhomes. Milenco is a good brand.

I bought basic steel ramps from Machine Mart. I use them to lower the car onto not drive up. Safety tip passed on to me....put them facing opposite directions to prevent accidental roll off.

SteveT bought a really handy set of ramps at the classic car show. They are flat when you drive onto them and they have a hydraulic jack which you can use to raise the car.

Very handy and a lot easier than traditional ramps. I never liked using mine, I was always worried about driving off the end of them.
