Maybe we should commission a Talk Morgan Whisky.
But how on earth would we agree on the blend?

Laphroaigh is my favourite whisky - especially the quarter cask. I have a square foot of land at the distillery(send in the number on the bottle/in the carton). A few years ago I went to collect my "rent" from them which was a brilliantly funny day out. Not only do they make a great whiskey but they have a wonderful sense of humour as well. Like Morgan people I suppose.

Phil, I am owning more than one square foot there. Not enough area to build my own destillery - but I'm working to expand my land ownership... (I do not know what happens after Brexit)

I like the taste of it - the best I ever tasted was a World Class Japanese one stilled by the Suntory company and it was a Yamazaki 12 Years single malt just stunning in every way but not cheap.
No1 Daughter bought me a bottle for a special occasion.
At the other end of the financial spectrum my good lady has picked up all three of the award winning malts on offer in Lidl and these are very palatable, I'm not a Johnny Walker or Bells fan either I think it's rot gut.

Can whisky or any spirit ever be "off" ? I didnt think so - the alcohol level prevents any bacterial /fungal action.
Not the Whisky per se, but I did once open a bottle of Old Pulteney to be hit with the unmistakeable soggy mildewed cardboard whiff of a tainted cork. Fortunately the bottle had been standing upright, so the water of life itself had not been affected and we were able to just chuck away the cork and get on with giving the contents a good seeing to. When I first started drinking single malts, I was a big fan of the big, smokey peaty aromas of the Islay malts. As I've grown older I've tended more to the subtleties and complexity of Speyside malts, but I'm also a big fan of the Old Pulteney (from Wick) and the Auchentoshan (Lowland - frae Glasgow). What I love about malt whisky is the hugely varied character; there really is a malt for your every mood.

[ What I love about malt whisky is the hugely varied character; there really is a malt for your every mood. Agree 100%! My favourite of all time is a "Silent" distillery since 1983, Brora. It is a peaty whisky from the east coast of Sutherland, just across the road from Clynelish but totally different. The limited supply that comes out of the owners are now silly prices. But Diageo is re-opening it!! Otherwise, Highland Park and Talisker are both great.

Very true, real whiskey has an e, but real whisky definitely does not!

Touche BTW one of my ancestors was the distiller at the Glenturret Distillery so I am not averse to a drop!

My fav whisk e y is MIddleton. I like to call the stuff from Scotland Scotch for that very reason.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
