Not really Morgan related, but about as reliable, I have just completed a 120 mile road run driving Frederick, my 1/3rd size Burrell traction engine. Some details in the link below: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/P...m=1534916242413Tim

Tim, well done. That does look a tad painful as a sitting position.

Tim, A beautiful engine and well done you. Having done a few road runs on my 3" I know how hard you will have worked.

Tim, well done. That does look a tad painful as a sitting position. Thanks John. Funnily enough, I seem to bend OK in the right places and don’t have any problems. However, you are stopping every 30 minutes or so, to check things, filling up a total loss lubrication system (and we thought Morgans were bad). Tim

Well done Tim, good effort for a worthy cause. My in law suffers from Parkinsons, and it's a miserable affliction. £25 donated.

I must confess that your post did inspire me to do a little browsing of steam engines on the Berrybrook site.

Berrybrook have saved my bacon today, providing a tool to enable me to do some essential boiler maintenance after the exhausting run. Sean very kindly donated £100 to Parkinson’s UK as well.

Poor Merlin has been bounced out of the workshop / garage whilst Frederick has a 120 mile service. I must say, that having made space for the 4/4, it gives a lot more room for working on the road locomotive. Minor, but critical, components that need repairing (a damper rod pin) often lead to a major strip down to get access. A major success story has been the red sticky grease that Cain (Wolf Automotive) supplies for Morgan sliding pillars: it worked a treat on the main axle bearings. Looking forward to the next outing at the Beds Steam Engine Preservation Society rally at Old Warden 14-16th September: if any TM members are attending, do stop to chat. We will be near the entrance. Tim
