Following an earlier thread about dust in the garage I thought I'd post a couple of pics of my new floor.I'm very pleased with the result, it's Duramat tiles, 12mm thick so as well as keeping the dust down it'll work as insulation and make it warmer in the winter. If it gets grubby I can just wipe it over with a damp mop.



No connection with Duramat, just happy with the effect.

I have to say I do like that although the chequered effect would play havoc with my eyes.
I started out doing my workshop area with tiles but gave up on the actual garage sticking to concrete paint instead.

I have the same tiles but black.
So far I am very please with them

I decided to go down this route too, covering over a rough boarded but level concrete floor. The tiles are bright green (Aventador) and I am really pleased with them, especially as you can see every speck of dirt and any dropped bits and pieces instantly. The other advantage is that the tiles can all be taken up and moved to the next house. I'd post a photo or avatar showing the car and floor but as a novice I am struggling with this even though I have downloaded the images onto the TM Image Library.

Ref the photo's, I struggled initially but there is a very good guide in the TM Image Library. Top right hand corner, About (drop down), Instructions for use.

Where I struggled was reading a bit then thinking I knew it all. Follow it step by step and it really is quite straightforward.

No excuse not to show us your handiwork.

I think it looks more eye boggling in the photos than in real life, possibly because the photos focus on the floor rather than the whole environment. It’s also less in your face when the car(s) are in there. It was a bit of a gamble but if I hadn’t been happy with it I could have just made one side white and the other black. The Mog normally lives on one side and SWMBO’s Porker on the other when she’s not likely to use it on a daily basis.

Thanks Rob. I know others have mentioned this issue before but I have followed the instructions and resized the images etc but when I come to copy using correct bar in the library the response tells me that my images are not correct. My avatar is less than 100 x100 pixels and less than 35k for instance.
At then moment I just can't see where I have gone wrong but don't worry, I won't give up and then you can all laugh at the colour tiles I have adopted!

Ah, a fellow Yorkshireman. We moved into a house once where the previous owner had taken all the toilet rolls, all the light bulbs and worst of all, the ceiling roses for the lights ie the rings that hold the lampshades up.

Anyway Mr OP. That looks fine but where do you keep all your rubbish? You must have an enormous shed somewhere to have a garage so empty.

I have two sheds that store all of the gardening equipment, off cuts of wood and pipe are stored in the rear right hand corner, large sheets of timber etc. are stored across the roof joists so that they’re visible and easily accessible, smaller “that might be useful one day” stuff is stored in boxes on the racking (some of which you can see on the back wall). Besides, it’s not that empty once you put two cars in there.
