Sorry my mistake, I must have hurt my head on a bar stool last night. The company is www.jegs.com and the code number for exhaust clamps is 289-32219 and they manufacture almost every size Hi All, It is the same size on the Plus 8 as on the Roadster. I have checked on the Jegs website but they don't carry the right size for Morgan. So I have ordered from Speedway the raw clamps, got in one week and polished before mounting. They are fitted and all is OK. Hope now I'll not have to replace every year. It was the last piece of mild steel underneath all other parts have been replaced wit S/S (when available and possible). I'm sure these could be made locally. The total cost including postage is $48.62. I will ask at a small engineering company nearby and see what they could knock them out for. If there is a big enough demand (and it looks like a worthwhile mod)it could be an interesting proposition.
So if you can all be patient I will get you a quote within the next 2 weeks for locally sourced clamps to the same spec.

I had a look at a company in the UK before I went to the USA. This company already manufactured zinc U bolts and saddles and for s/s ones they wanted a MOQ of 5,000 and the cost of the U bolts in s/s would be aprox £10 to £15.
The cost to me from the USA in s/s was $9 each this inclued P&P and taxes, I also thought if the demand in the UK was worthwhile I would import them and sell them on but there was not enough interest.
Perhaps Morgan Motor Co could buy them and fit them onto new cars and also retro fit

The cost to me from the USA in s/s was $9 each this inclued P&P and taxes Damn! How did you do that? I just ordered some and it was nearly 50 bucks. Just goes to show you should always ask on TalkMorgan before doing ANYTHING. Anyway, when my bits arrive I will get a quote for fabricating more. Now I'm off to kick the cat......

Well I tried my friendly local engineering firm. They have had a go at making a similar bracket. The U shaped part (the bolt) is easy enough but the top part of the bracket is stamped out on a machine. They tried fabricating this by cutting and welding but the result is not as good and more expensive, so it's a non starter from their perspective.
I will try another company that will have the appropriate "stamping" machinery but I suspect they will be rather more expensive.
Will let you know.

Flowman I wanted to get some spares/ future replacements for my system, so I tried Speedway as you suggested. They were prompt and helpful -very detailed e-mail arrived same day as I enquired - although did stress that P&P would depend on quantity. They also told me that they can do the clamps either raw or polished, so I think I may give it a go and order some regards, G

Flowman Hi all, I tried the same with a small local workshop who made me my toolbox and some other bespoke parts in stainless steel. But they declined, because to make the saddle it seems that some special tooling they don't have is requested. Anyway it is cheaper to buy from USA even if P&P is enough expensive. The stainless steel U bolt part is no hard to find as it is often used in industry to fix pipes. BR. Daniel.
