Hi, My left hand drive 1960 Plus 4 regularly develops a small patch of oily deposit on the inside of the windscreen. It accumulates as a light smear right in my line of vision, just about four inches square, but annoying. It is almost lined up with the bonnet louvres, but not quite, and is on the inside. Any suggestions as to where this might be coming from or how it can be getting there? Beats me! Thanks.

It could be being pulled back into the car by air turbulence. That or you should cut down on the Brylcreme.

Windscreen--I should see if it appears on my aeroscreen also.

Do you have demister vents ? If so, are oil fumes from the engine compartment getting into the system, due to maybe a leaky or detached air pipe, and then condensing on the cooler windscreen glass?
