to avoid exhaust odor in the car with the bimini top i made a exhaust tip with the end welded shut down and cut a opening at the underside…. test will be for as soon it doesn't rain…. so not yet tomorrow …

Probably a turbulence thing from the rear wheels occurring, with the fumes from the exhaust being pulled back by negative pressure in the wheel well, as our noses sit relatively close to the wheels hence the pong.

What type of wheels do you have?

If you can borrow another style see if the issue alters.

IE go from wires to alloys and visa versa.

Good idea Mark , i have wires now….
but i suspect a negative pressure zone due the bimini top without a rear window…. i once had a '70 Corvette ( T top targa) on which the rear window could be removed. Later years they made it fix due problems with exhaust gases in the car … could be the same problem here.

With the door windows on it's even worse…. as expected.

Ok, tested today…. it's much more better but with side windows there's still some exhaust smell... without it's OK . Ofcourse , when one is concentrating on odor , you always smell something...

so , problem not 100 % solved. O well, no big deal , keeps us thinking...

That's good you're getting there.

Try simply making the exhaust a little longer -- 3 inches should do it. Worked for me.

thanks griffo .… but the exhaust was already "long" … sticking out as far as the overriders in the back. It looked already to long.
