As one of the first with the cambelt dying due to heat, I replaced the belt as well as upgrading the cambelt cover with the spacers and ditching the gasket. Belt looks great after 20,000 miles but it is a bit noisy. It adds to the whirring sounds up front along with the valves tappetting away!

What do I hear all the time?

cam belt
valves
transmission
driveshaft
bevel box
drive belt
clunking of the rear swing arms
body vibration
exhaust

This is a noisy mother!

If one of those noises stops I just have to assume that the device broke or is behind me on the road...

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
