The November issue of Classic & Sports Car magazine has an article about the front impact test facility of the Motor Industry Research Association.
MIRA Engineer Roy Aston talks about the first crash test in 1964 (a Humber Super Snipe towed behind another car); the Rolls Royce Camargue prototype that the R-R people pleaded with them to get right; and the day in 1974 when they crash tested a Lamborghini Countach...
"I remember it well," smiles Aston. "It was quite exotic in its day but, though it may be hard to believe now, to us it was just another car. Nobody seemed concerned about the loss of a special car – in fact the only car I remember anyone thinking it was a shame to crash was a Morgan!"
I can appreciate that.

I'd read this before and liked the quote.
It truly does reflect the opinion of the public toward the effort, workmanship and time that goes into a Morgan - and in this case - their dislike of wasting all of this effort by crashing it.

Mmm- I'd like to believe it, but - - - its a bit aapocryphal isn't it? If you take it to its logical conclusion then there must be dozens of cars which attract the same sentimental attraction. Nice thought though Cheerrs, G

I've just seen this posted on the Facebook Group (with the caption "Flat Rad"!) According to the Facebook comments this is the crash test car and at one time could be found behind the factory. ~iw
