I'll probably go Friday by train.

Change at New Street.....

I also went Sunday in the car last year and it wasn't too crowded.
You can buy a car park ticket online in advance which saves messing on the day.

I’ve done it by train and driving on both the Friday and Saturday but have to say that I preferred driving as the train is just a pain - the walk to the station is considerable after a full day and hanging around for trains is another pain

This year I might drive down on the Friday evening, stay in one of the nearby hotels, park at the hotel and go to the show on Saturday

Car parking at the NEC is straight forward but pay for your ticket when you get there first thing in the morning or online before or while you are there so you don’t queue when you want to leave

It's quite big an event these days, and you'd easily turn it into a two day without feeling you're wasting time. I've trained it in the past, there's not much in it timewise for me, but the parking at the station my end is almost as much as the NEC, so it seems a lot easier to use the car for the flexibility.

No camping in the car park though, Kev..

Clarion events have just sent out a marketing email for the NEC event

It promotes the MSCC stand celebrating 50 yrs of the Plus 8 and features a nice photo of a modern +8 (Mr Wynns?) outside Blenheim

Yes - it is Mr Wynn`s car. I`ll be there all 3 days - Friday is quieter but no cheap club tickets that day. NEC parking is very expensive - £12 per day I think - but parking at International Railway Station is cheaper. You havn`t heard this from me - but if you wait until the end of the show in the evening, have a coffee in the concourse, and walk slowly out to your car and faff around for a while the ticket people have gone home and the barriers are up as generally it is only exhibitors going out at that time and they have free parking tickets.
Come and say hello on the MSCC stand - a good range of +8s there and if you lucky I may reward you with an MSCC freebie - I think coasters this year.
