Found this gem on Pistonheads and it gave me a chuckle.

The topic starts with a chap who has met Jason Plato and says: -

"... and he is an arrogant swear

Saw his grey 911 Turbo parked outside the dry cleaners near where I live and thought "Wow! Its Jason Plato" so I hung around to say hello and meet him. 20 minutes in freezing 2 degree cold and he comes out and I say hello and he shakes my hand. I say that I really like his car reviews and all that to which he just says "yeah yeah nice yeah, bye". Gets into his Porsche and drives off. Can't even spare 10 seconds for a fan.

Its true what they say, don't meet your heroes."

An 'associate' of mine had a similar brush with Gordon Ramsay in Sheffield. And no - it wasn't me - I don't subscribe to celebrity worship.......
Although I did meet (and talk to) Ken Clark when he was Chancellor.

Anybody Top Trump that? innocent

Many years ago I was invited to the Labour Party Bar in the House of Commons after a meal out with a Scottish MP who had to be back there for a late 'Vote' (they Lock you in the Bar while the vote takes place).
We spent a pleasant late night boozing cheers in the company of a jolly crowd of Welsh Miners and sat next to Ken Livingstone and his 'Assistant' who was lurking in a dark corner. Thankfully no one spotted my blue tie hide .

I secured Lewmbit Opik as an after dinner speaker, when he was an MP and before he went into the jungle!
Had the chance to have a few Guinesses with him and he's a really nice bloke. Very knowledgeable about cars and knew all about Morgans. He drives a couple of really old tin tips with 6 figure mileage.
OK, maybe that doesn't top Ken Clark but he went up in my estimation hugely.
